Kingsmead Centre has fantastic modern facilities onsite including new shower/toilet blocks and two pleasure angling lakes
Kingsmead Centre has two pleasure angling lakes on site.
The Woodland lake is the smaller of the two. It is located on the same level as the lower camping field but a short distance away through the woods. It has three large joined areas of lillies, a soft clay bottom and a fairly even depth of 4 to 5 feet. The lake is stocked with Ide, tench, rudd, bream and carp.
The Valley lake is stocked with a more traditional mix of coarse fish. It is a 50 metre walk down from the Woodland lake. Those with a 4 x 4 can take their cars down and unload at the lakeside. This lake includes: Common Carp, Mirror Carp, Perch, Tench, Roach, Rudd, Bream, Chubb.
Fishing is included in the price of your stay; however you are responsible for ensuring that you have a rod licence from the Environment Agency.
Despite the remote feel of our site, you are never far from the essentials.
With a toilet and shower block at either end of the site, our newly renovated upper block boasts individual shower rooms and is fully heated. In the lower camping field you will find generous sized wet rooms with unlimited hot water, a communal washing up area with fridge/freezer and tourist information.
In the upper facilities block we have a laundry room with coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer.
At reception we have a small range of essentials for sale such as milk, snacks and camping supplies. Just in case you run out of anything during your stay.
Fire pit hire
No proper camping trip would be complete without an open fire or BBQ.
You can relax in our communal area, which has a large fire pit, traditional coal BBQ and seating area or you can rent a fire pit from us.
Fire pit rentals are £2.50 per night or £5.00 including a BBQ grill. Bags of local wood and charcoal available at £5.00. To top off that true camping experience, we also sell marshmallows!
Whilst we don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun, please remember to be sensible with open fires and BBQs and follow our simple rules to keep your safe. Download campsite safety information here.
